The Artemis ILS NYC 2025 conference returned to New York City on February 7th, 2025, drawing over 415 attendees to discuss opportunities in catastrophe bonds and insurance-linked securities (ILS).
Focus on emerging ILS segments and sophisticated products
This year’s theme centered on capturing opportunities in both established and emerging segments of the ILS asset class. With reinsurance rates remaining at historically high levels, the ILS market has a chance to capture the opportunities this presents. Demand for efficient reinsurance risk capital remains high and has been increasing, presenting opportunities for the ILS market to expand. Now, ILS specialists are expanding the asset class to new risk classes as well, broadening the set of opportunities that investors can capture.
Expert-led panels on key ILS trends
Four main panel sessions addressed critical topics: private ILS growth strategies, the parametric ILS investment opportunity, catastrophe bond market balance, and the casualty ILS investment environment. Industry leaders, including Lorenzo Volpi of Leadenhall Capital Partners and Martin Malinow of Parameter Climate, led these discussions.
The event also included a final Q&A wrap-up panel, moderated by Steve Evans of Artemis, featuring the day’s session moderators. Attendees had opportunities to network with senior executives from (re)insurance companies, ILS fund managers, and institutional investors.
Sponsors showcased their services throughout the day, and attendees could access quiet spaces and refreshments for meetings. Videos of the sessions are now available for viewing.
