Lagos State has opened registration for a second round of computer-based screening tests for admission into its Model Colleges and upgraded junior secondary schools.
Eligibility for the second test
The second screening is limited to students whose exam dates conflicted with other major examinations. The Lagos State Examinations Board created this additional session to include those who could not take the first test due to scheduling issues.
Registration opened on July 14 and will end on August 15. The test is set for August 21 and 22 at the Public Service Staff Development Centre in Magodo, Lagos. Candidates must arrive by 8 a.m. on their designated day.
Registration process and fees
Parents and guardians can register online through the board’s official portal. The cost remains 10,000 naira per candidate, matching the first round’s fee. The portal provides detailed instructions and guidelines to assist with the process.
Two schools—Vetland Junior Grammar School in Ifako-Ijaiye and Eva-Adelaja Girls’ Junior Secondary School in Bariga—are excluded from the registration options.

Adebayo Orunsolu, registrar of the Lagos State Examinations Board, stated that the additional screening demonstrates the government’s commitment to ensuring equal access to quality education for all qualified candidates. He urged parents and guardians to register early and ensure strict compliance with all registration requirements to facilitate a seamless application process.
Test content and administration
The screening evaluates Primary Six pupils for entry into the state’s public junior secondary schools. It uses a computer-based format.
The Lagos State Examinations Board said the second run of the CBT Screening Test will be conducted in a transparent, credible, fair and efficient manner, in line with established standards and global best practices.
The initial 2026 screening occurred earlier this year with the same 10,000 naira fee. The state government later rescheduled the 2026 Placement Test for admission into public junior secondary schools from July 25 to July 28 after the examination date coincided with the state’s monthly environmental sanitation exercise.
